Cavedine Social Band is located in the town of Cavedine (TN), one of the main towns of the Valley of the Lakes. Founded in 1892, it has about forty players of all ages and wants to represent, as well as its own municipality, the entire community of Valle, where it has the main activities.
The dialogue between tradition and innovation can be found above all in its musical activity: Cavedine Social Band has always kept up with the times, as demonstrated by the recordings made on CD for the 110th anniversary (2002), on DVD for the 120th anniversary (2012) and in a cutting-edge rehearsal room built from scratch in 2008.
The repertoire is a witness of this and lives a continuous update between original music for band, classical transcriptions and film music, without forgetting the recovery and the re-proposal of the local traditional music, which for example saw in 2012 the transcription of “Una serata cavedinese”, a piece originally composed in 1926 for organ by Adriano Bortolotti and reworked for band by Andrea Mastroeni.
Ranging across the repertoire means being able to boast prestigious collaborations: in the last decade the Social Band of Cavedine has collaborated with professionals and with all the cultural associations present on the territory, creating an important space in the musical and cultural scene of western Trentino.
There are also numerous performances outside their own territory: every year the Banda Sociale di Cavedine plays at least once both outside the region and in the German town of Eggolsheim, with which the Municipality of Cavedine is twinned.
An average age of about 30 and a young Maestro, Daniele Grott, make the Social Band of Cavedine one of the most lively and dynamic cultural realities of the Community of the Valley of the Lakes.
