The APS Filarmonica Pegliese Marco Chiusamonti is a Social Promotion Association, founded in 2016 from the need to provide the city of Pegli with its own musical band that could represent the delegation of Western Genoa also on the occasion of religious anniversaries or institutional commemorations. Since its foundation it has been directed by Maestro Alberto Boschi, Orchestra Professor at Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa as a flautist and piccolo player.
The Association is made up of musicians of all ages, mostly non-professionals, and also includes family groups; its main purpose is to enhance music as an integral part of cultural heritage, spread interest in active musical practice and promote it as a factor of individual growth. Its musical repertoire has been enriched over time with heterogeneous musical pieces, which has always had an excellent response in the appreciation of the public, receiving recognition of merit for its variety and expressive quality. The concert activity of the Filarmonica Pegliese has developed over time both to accompany its musicians in their studies and to provide a service to the public. It is registered in the Regional Register of Associations of the 3rd Sector, in the Municipal Register of Associations of Genoa and in the ANBIMA (National Association of Autonomous Italian Musical Bands).
Over the years, the Filarmonica Pegliese has established collaborations with other associations in the area, promoting consolidated partnerships with some of them, with the aim of continuous cultural and artistic growth of its members.
The Filarmonica is named after the young flautist from Pegli, Marco Chiusamonti, who lives music with joy and assiduously attends the City Musical Events. The mountains are his second passion, he begins with hiking and, very soon, moves on to mountaineering. Reaching the summit and seeing the world around him is his dream. On September 4, 1987, he finished his journey on Mount Zinalrothorn, in Switzerland.
