The Corpo Musicale Giacomo Puccini traces its roots back to two band ensembles founded in the late 19th century in Vezzano Ligure (La Spezia) by merging of two musical groups: one located in Vezzano Inferiore and the other in Vezzano Superiore.
In those early years, both bands were fueled by a spirit of friendly rivalry and actively took part in regional competitions, earning numerous awards.
Following a pause due to the events of World War II, with the exception of a brief period of time in the 1970s, the band has remained active—performing regularly in the surrounding region and participating in numerous events across Italy, proudly representing Vezzano.
Since 2009, the association has also organized “Contemporaneamente”, a festival combining band music and visual art. The event has brought over thirty band ensembles to perform in Vezzano.
Today, this musical group is represented by President Paola Baldini conducted by Maestro Luca Bianchi.
