Germany – Frankfurt (Oder)

The Fanfare Guard Frankfurt a. d. Oder e.V. was founded in April 1973 in the VEB Halbleiterwerk Frankfurt (Oder). 150 active members aged from 5 to over 50 currently play music together in five performance groups (platoons) and project groups. Since 2014, there is also its own majorette group. In addition to the conventional marching music with trumpets and percussion instruments, the orchestra impresses in its concert programs with a diverse repertoire.

Travels to national and international music festivals, meetings and competitions with excellent results led the musicians to many European countries, the USA and Mexico. The orchestra also participated in numerous state music festivals and competitions and achieved very good and excellent ratings.
In 2003, 2005 and 2011, the orchestra organized 3 International Music Festivals in Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice (Poland) with a total of more than 3,500 musicians from 10 nations.

5 own CDs were produced, documenting the musical work and performance of the last years. Since 2005 the orchestra has been working together with Polish cultural institutions, schools and partners. In 2023 the music association will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a German-Polish music festival.
